What is mudroom ? The mudroom is a secondary entrance into the house and a space for putting (muddy) shoes, coats, and wet clothes before entering the main house. Its purpose is to provide additional storage and ensure that other areas of the home remain tidy and clean.

Take stock of the space: If you don’t have built-in storage, make do by investing in a shelving unit or purchasing storage furniture like benches or ottomans to store things away. If you don’t have a dedicated mudroom, that’s okay! Adding a bench with baskets under it can help convert a small place into a dedicated area in your entryway for all your shoes and knickknacks. Hang hooks over your bench for coats and jackets and a dog leash if you have pets. Use the bench to sit and put your shoes on before walking out the door. It’s all about getting creative with the space you have.

Consider some must-haves: a console table or bench, mirror, rug, and lighting.

baskets: Storage baskets are a pretty way to store things away.

Decorative elements: Add decorative elements like artwork or pictures, a plant, a chair, or an umbrella stand if you have the space for them.
